Building Regional Networks
Richard Couldrey & Michael ThomasMeadows Reception Room
In 2016 and 2017, we ran 11 regional network workshops looking at practical steps to developing regional networks across England. 146 attendees from 85 Transition Groups joined us and from that we got a really good picture of what it might be like to connect regional towards larger scale change. In 2019, we've continued to work with 8 of those regions on The Great Invitation.
Recognising the multiple drivers from Extinction Rebellion, Council Declarations of Climate Emergency, Greta Thunberg etc, we wanted to extend a "Great Invitation" to join in, become active and make the change we want to see. This extends beyond transition, depending on local context. In this session, we will continue to explore how networks can benefit our individual and group activity, either theme based or multi-faceted, what are the benefits of networks and how can they catalyse and accelerate good change?
